Grayscale Her

Grayscale Her is a monochrome photographic installation by fashion artist Chiaki Shimizu and photographer Suu Tanaka, inspired by films portraying iconic women. Featuring Japanese ballet dancers from the National Theatre Košice, the work explores femininity through black and white costumes that move and unravel, revealing inner emotion through silence and motion. Rooted in Japanese aesthetics, it reflects dualities — clarity and ambiguity, strength and fragility — shimmering like the quiet glow of a white night.
